The Washington County Home Town Competitiveness (WCHTC) group commends the Washington County Economic Growth Partnership for their successful efforts in obtaining a $50,000 USDA Rural Business Enterprise Grant for Washington County.  This grant provides an extra incentive to local entrepreneurs to do business in Washington County and also serves as an alternative and/or supplement to conventional bank financing.

The small business development loan program, administered in part by the Washington County Economic Growth Partnership and Administrative Resources Association (ARA), is available to start-up businesses as well as existing businesses in Washington County.  The purpose of the program is to provide loans and technical assistance to new and emerging Washington County businesses while facilitating development and creating or retaining employment possibilities within the community.

Applications are now being accepted for the small business development loan program.  These applications can be obtained from the Washington County Economic Growth Partnership's office located at 1707 North Shelby, Suite 109, Salem, IN.

The Washington County Home Town Competitiveness Program's mission in part is to foster community and economic growth.  The recent implementation of the small business development loan program greatly enhances and helps solidify Washington County's "curb appeal" from the Front Porch.
